This week I'm participating in the Naughty New Year's Blog Hop hosted by the amazing Skye Warren. Skye has asked erotic romance writers to answer the question: What's your naughty New Year's resolution?
My resolution as a writer of naughty stories is to keep pushing my erotic limits. With each new book, I want to write about something I haven't covered before -- whether it's a personal fantasy that I haven't consummated in Real Life, or it's something I would never do in a million years, I want to write about it.
GOD OF ECSTASY opens with Jaime Leighton celebrating the day her divorce is final. She has a relaxing night planned: wine and a bubble bath. But when she rubs the wine bottle, a man appears out of nowhere, smack in the middle of her bathtub. He claims to be a Greek god and offers her three fantasies.Jaime goes for it. She's decided it's time to claim some fun for herself. My favourite thing about her is her take-charge spirit. I don't know if I could have sex with a man I just met, but I know I enjoyed fantasizing about it through Jaime.
ALPHA MOUNTIE began with the idea of a sex scene: I've never had sex in a canoe (which makes me a terrible Canadian!) so of course my characters had to do it for me. Park ranger Noire Pelletier and RCMP Constable Cam Dawson were happy to oblige. I think they enjoyed it :-)
In the new year, I have a few new erotic ideas to explore: my upcoming erotic horror release HAUNT ME features ghost sex (mmm, an invisible lover...) and I'm currently writing a novella with a scene that involves penetration with a somewhat unusual object.
Leave a comment for a chance to win a $10 gift card from me, to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or Chapters.
Answer this: Do you have a New Year's resolution, naughty or otherwise? Don't forgot to include your email address so I can contact the winner!
You also get a chance to win one of two grand prizes: A $100 gift card to sexy fun online shop EdenFantasys or a fabulous erotic bundle of 10 new releases from hot authors:
I have generally given up on making resolutions since I feel so guilty when I don't accomplish what I try to. I am going to TRY to exercise more...we won't discuss what room that will take place in, lol.

To keep up with my blog
ReplyDeletechelseawoodring at hotmail dot com
Elf - love your "exercise" goals haha. I'm similar to you & Magic, I don't usually make specific resolutions. The pressure would just annoy me rather than inspire me.
ReplyDeleteMimi, Barbara, Shannon, M.C., I think yours are all good resolutions because they're about attitude more than stopping/starting a specific thing.
Though I like Taletrader's too. I've been trying to blog more regularly recently. I've got a bunch of ideas for posting in 2013.
Thanks for joining the hop!
My main resolution is to love the woman my husband married.
ReplyDeleteSecondary ones to finish editing book A, start editing book B, write draft of book C
cristinegasser (at) gmail (dot) com
Sigh, you just reminded me that I still haven't met my writing goals for today...back to work :-)
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with yours too, Cristine!

Why would never having had sex in a canoe make you a bad Canadian? A hockey rink or a Tim Horton's, maybe... ;-) I just want to learn to take life in stride this year. ALPHA MOUNTIE looks excellent!
ReplyDeletevitajex(at)aol(dot)com
Thanks Mydurango, Krista, Laurie, and Vitajex for stopping by the hop.
ReplyDeleteVitajex, the canoe thing is from something Pierre Berton said. He defined a real Canadian as "somebody who knows how to make love in a canoe." When I read that, it inspired a scene in Alpha Mountie.
Sex on a hockey rink would be fun, but you'd need a blanket under you...don't want certain parts of your body freezing to the ice, ouch!
My goal for this year is to publish my novel :)

Thanks Alice, Shadow, Jessi, Evie, Vera, Lacey, Ms. Reality, BonTempsCutie, Books4me, Rhianna, Kimmy, and Jillyn for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteWhew, I was away from the computer too long so while I've read everyone's comments, I'm just going to grab a few at random to actually reply to.
I'm loving all the resolutions to read more. I think that's one I'll make for myself, too.
Those of you who don't do resolutions (books4me, Jessi), I think it's smart to know yourself. This is why I don't diet. I like food too much, I'd be doomed to failure.
Best of luck with the novel, Alice!
Shadow, glad you're enjoying the hop. I love them too, my TBR list always grows.
BonTemps, that's a great resolution...hope you and the hubby get to try out some of those naughty things.

I have decided not to do resolutions this year. I always fail and then feel like crap about it at the beginning of the next year. I do on the other hand have a book goal to read 100 books this year. As I have been doing this hop I find it hilarious all of us book people won't do traditional resolutions or goals, BUT we will gladly make a book goal or join the reading challenges. *hee hee* I am guilty of it also.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. Happy New Year!

My New Years resolution is to get out of these two casts so I can walk down the aisle on my wedding day without the aid of a wheelchair. I fell on the ice on Wed Jan 9th and broke both of my ankles. So not the great start to the New Years that I wanted.
